Sighthound hereby announces the official end-of-life for Cloud API v1. Initially released in July 2015, the Cloud API v1 has been instrumental in serving hundreds of millions of API calls to our valued customers. This decision to discontinue Cloud API v1 is driven by our commitment to delivering cutting-edge computer vision solutions and enhancing customer experiences.

Over the years, Sighthound's product portfolio has evolved, and we recognized the need to create a more unified and consistent Sighthound API to work seamlessly across all our products. As a result, we have made significant API schema changes to enhance overall performance and accommodate increasing customer requests to run the API service on their own servers.

Our latest version, ALPR+ REST API, offers improved features, performance, and compliance with the latest industry-standard protocols. By focusing our efforts on ALPR+ REST API, we can provide you with the best-in-class computer vision capabilities and ensure long-term scalability and reliability.

ALPR+ REST API will require customers to host the software using Docker on their own infrastructure as Sighthound will no longer offer Cloud API as a Sighthound-hosted solution.

The end-of-life date for Cloud API v1 is set for December 20, 2023. After this date, Sighthound will no longer host or provide support for this specific version.

Transition Plan:

• Transitioning to the new Vehicle Analytics REST API is a top priority for Sighthound to ensure vehicle data continues to provide value.  Discounted licensing and support for the new installation and integrations will be made available. 

• Adjustments will be needed in workflows, dependencies, or integrations. Our team will work closely with you to address any concerns.

• We are committed to providing continuous assistance during the transition, ensuring timely resolution of inquiries or issues related to Cloud API v1.

Migration Plan:

• We offer a migration path to our latest Vehicle Analytics REST API (ALPR+), featuring enhanced features, performance, and compliance with industry standards.

• Extensive resources, including guides and sample code, will assist in a successful migration.

• Our team is available to provide the necessary training and support to ensure seamless integration with the new API version.

For Resellers or Integrators: If you are a reseller or integrator currently using Cloud API v1 in your solutions, we understand that this transition may require some adjustments. Our team is here to work closely with you to address any concerns and help you seamlessly integrate the self-hosted version into your offerings.

For Paid Users: As a paid user of Cloud API v1 over the last two years (subscription date after December 31st, 2020), we value your continued support. Our team is committed to providing personalized assistance during this transition to ensure a smooth experience for you.

For Developers: If you are using Cloud API v1 strictly for development purposes, we encourage you to make use of the self-hosted version to continue your development activities seamlessly.
