DNNCam Web UI v1 Guide
This guide will help you access the Sighthound Camera Web UI to configure camera network, optical, video, and user settings.
NOTE: Web UI v2 was introduced with the release of Core Services v4.2. If your device is running Core Services v4.2+, please refer to the Web UI v2 Guide. |
The Sighthound Camera Web UI is a tool for configuring device settings. Enter the following address into a browser window to open the Sighthound Camera Web UI for device configuration:
http://{DNNDeviceIP}:5000/
e.g. http://192.168.1.117:5000/ for DHCP Address or http://169.254.181.79:5000/ for Link Local Address
Login
The first time the administrator accesses the Camera Web UI, a login window will prompt the user to enter the device Username and Password. All Sighthound devices are shipped with the default Username and Password.
Username: admin
Password: baidnncam
Upon first login, you will be prompted to change the default password for the admin account. Please do not forget your admin password, as there is not an easy way to recover access to the Camera Web UI if the admin password is unknown.
Live View Panel
The default page of the Camera UI is the Live View panel.
By clicking the gear icon in the upper right hand corner of the window, users can alter image and video capture settings and view the resulting changes in the stream. In the Lens Settings tab, the number is not the value of the step motor, but rather adjusts how much the ' + ' or ' - ' buttons adjust the step motor. If you are dissatisfied with changes, the Reset All Capture Settings buttons will restore the device to default settings.
Network Panel
The Network panel allows the user to adjust the device’s network settings.
If you elect to manually set the device network settings, be careful to set the IP address, gateway, and DNS properly as the device may become inaccessible by the network with a malformed user configuration. Record the configuration for later reference . Press Apply to set your configuration. The device can take up to 30 seconds to reboot and display the user interface. The Web UI will be at the newly configured manual IP address. It is recommended to keep link local addressing as a backup network connection option.
Settings Panel
Customizing the device hostname in the Settings panel is also recommended, especially if the user is configuring more than one device. Each element of the hostname must be from 1 to 63 characters long and the entire hostname, including the dots, can be at most 253 characters long. Valid characters for hostnames are ASCII(7) letters from a to z, the digits from 0 to 9, and the hyphen. A hostname may not start with a hyphen. If a hostname change is rejected or does not comply with these rules, the hostname change will not take effect.
The Settings panel also provides the option to Factory Reset or just reset Network or RTSP Stream settings.
