Firewall/Network Requirements

The following outbound sites/ports must be opened to allow a DNNCam or DNNNode to properly communicate with the Sighthound Platform, enable OTA updates, and provide the Sighthound I team with remote access for troubleshooting.

  • All ports are used with outgoing connections and responses.  No ports are required to be open for incoming access.
  • All ports, with the exception of port 80, use HTTPS/TLS and encrypted payloads.
  • Either 8.8.8.8 must be routable OR a custom DNS needs to be configured using the Web UI. See the Web UI Guide to configure the DNS.
  • It is also required to have access to a routable NTP server.  Our default is 0.us.pool.ntp.org, and NTP uses port 123. Changes can be made in the Web UI.
