Sighthound Platform Overview
This guide will give a quick overview of the different panels and options within the Sighthound Platform.
Account Setup
When you purchase a device from Sighthound, a Sighthound representative will add you as a user on the Sighthound Platform and assign you to the administrator of your workspace. You will receive an email titled '[Sighthound Platform] Set Password'. Follow the link provided in the email to set your password.
Upon first logging in, your name will appear as John Doe in the top left corner. You can add your name by navigating to the 'Account Settings' and entering your name
Device Settings Panel
The Device Settings panel will list all of your devices on the left side, as well as provide a map to visualize where your devices are located in relation to one another. Choose a device a device by clicking on its name to open the Device Settings page for that device. This page will show you an overview of the services on your device, as well as system health information.
Tip: to ensure that your device is connected to the internet and powered properly, check to make sure that the 'Last Seen:' field is refreshing every ~30 seconds
To configure the location of your device, choose the 'Edit Details' button inside the Device Details menu. From here, you can use the map provided and single-click on the device location. See the image below for an example:
Tip: Use full screen when selecting your location to show more of the map.
Services Panel
The Services Panel has two sub-sections: Store and Inventory. The 'Store' page will list all available services that you can purchase and add to your workspace and devices. Add an application to your platform by choosing 'Add to Cart', then opening your Shopping Cart and selecting 'Checkout'.
The 'Inventory' page will list all of your purchased containers/applications and show which devices they are deployed on. This is where you can assign new containers to devices.
Metadata Page
The Metadata page contains the metadata dashboards for all applications. Refer to the specific application guide for help viewing your data.
