How to flash your DNN device
print icon

This guide applies to the DNN Node and the DNN Cam

Required Components

  • Ubuntu 16.04 Host Machine (or a virtual machine with Ubuntu 16.04)
  • T20 Security Torx Screwdriver
  • USB 2.0 to Micro USB cable (3’ to 6’ is ideal)

How to Flash

In order to flash the device, you will need access to the micro USB port on the motherboard. Note: opening the device will void the IP67 factory rating. You will need to perform your own testing when reassembling.

  1. Make sure the device is disconnected from ethernet (i.e. the device is unpowered and OFF).
  2. Open the rear case panel with a T20 security torx screwdriver.
  3. Plug a micro USB cable into the motherboard and plug the other end
  4. Next to the micro USB connector are three buttons. Hold down the Recovery button (the button closest to the connector).
  5. Plug your ethernet cable (with PoE+ injected) into the device back panel.
  6. After 3 seconds, you can let go of the Recovery button.
  7. Go to Nvidia’s Jetson Download Center and download Jetpack 3.+ and follow the instructions.

For the DNN Cam, the stock Nvidia image does not contain drivers for our Sony Imager. Please contact support to request these drivers.
